#BlogTour In Two Minds by K.T. Findlay

It's my turn on the BlogTour In Two Minds by K.T. Findlay.
About the Author
K.T. Findlay lives on a small farm where he dovetails his writing with fighting the blackberry, and convincing the quadbike that killing its rider isn't a core part of its job description.

About the book
Hurled twelve hundred years into the past, into someone else's body, things could hardly be worse. And then the body's owner wanted it back...

Museum curator Thomas and ten year old Anglo Saxon Wulfstan, have to cope with a fifty year age gap, a huge culture clash, and never knowing from one moment to the next who's going to be in control. If that wasn't enough, Wulfstan's father, King Offa of Mercia, has given his son just a year to find and prepare a team of ten female fighters to take on the King's champion. In the brute strength world of Anglo Saxon battle, he hasn't a hope.

Thomas has a plan to help, but first he'll have to come to terms with eighth century Britain, with all its colour, violence, ignorance, and a disturbingly cavalier attitude to hygiene! And amidst all of that, he has to find ten amazing women willing to attempt the impossible.

Review
Wulfstan is the son of an Anglo Saxon king. A boisterous boy with a sense of spirit and adventures, and also a boy prone to being in the wrong place at the wrong time. His near death is mirrored simultaneously in the future and middle-aged Thomas ends up in the same place as Wulfstan.

The spirits of Thomas and Wulfstan become intertwined and end up in the same physical body together. The body of a child, albeit one in the Anglo-Saxon time period. The museum curator finds himself smack bang in the middle of his own period of expertise, which helps when it comes to the many challenges Wulfstan faces.

It's a time displacement and historical read. It's very much a learning experience at times, especially when it comes to the development of weapons and tactics in early Medieval times and of course warfare.

Instead of reborn souls think souls that connect in the most dire of moments or the most peaceful, and then may accidentally end up somewhere else instead of heading off to wherever souls go when they are released from their physical bodies.

The ending suggests Findlay is going to return with an even more interesting second book in the series. One that gives Thomas plenty of room to question and lead. Looking forward to where the author will take it.
